![]() Ambedkar that you can add to your reading list! His name is etched in Indian history and his birth anniversary (April 14) is celebrated as Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti all over India. His wide range of writings still continue to motivate and inspire people. Throughout his life, Ambedkar wrote extensively on various topics including politics, economics, religion, casteism, segregation, governance etc. Thus he is also referred to as the ‘Father of Indian Constitution’. He was the first law and justice minister of independent India and was the architect of the Constitution of India. An Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer, Ambedkar inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables or Dalits. Little did he know that the same quote would one day become a reflection of his life, a life that wasn’t too long but definitely “great”. Ambedkar, as he is widely known as, once said. “Life should be great rather than long.”- This is what Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, or B.R. ![]()
